Usage Policy
Coburg lets you work with AI models from several providers in one place. Coburg does not build these models. It passes each request to the provider whose model you choose, or that Coburg picks for the task, and shows you the answer.
This Usage Policy explains what Coburg must not be used for. It is part of our Terms of Service and applies to everyone who uses Coburg on the web, in the app for iPhone or in the app for Mac.
Two sets of rules
When you send a request, two sets of rules apply at the same time:
- This Usage Policy, which covers everything you do in Coburg;
- the usage policy of the AI provider that answers the request — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Perplexity, Consensus, Meta, Mistral AI, Cohere, Alibaba Cloud, BytePlus, Z.ai, Moonshot AI, StepFun or DeepSeek. Each provider publishes its policy on its own website. The same applies to the provider that transcribes your voice, reads an answer aloud or draws an image.
If the two differ, the stricter rule applies. A provider may also refuse, filter or stop a request on its own; Coburg cannot override that.
What you must not do
Do not use Coburg to:
- break the law, or plan, promote or help with anything illegal;
- create, request or share sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualises children — without exception;
- get help with weapons that can cause mass harm (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or explosive), with terrorism or violent extremism, or with attacks on critical infrastructure;
- write malware, break into systems or accounts that are not yours, or run phishing and other attacks;
- threaten, harass, bully or incite hatred or violence against people or groups;
- defraud or deceive people — for example scams, fake reviews or impersonating a real person or organisation;
- create realistic images, voices or texts of real people that could mislead others, without their consent — including by using Coburg’s voices or drawing models to imitate someone;
- spread false information to manipulate elections or public debate;
- collect, track or reveal other people’s personal data without a legal basis, or identify people from their face or other biometric features;
- infringe the copyright or other rights of others — including by attaching, linking or connecting content you have no right to use;
- encourage or give instructions for self-harm or suicide;
- make decisions about people’s credit, employment, housing, education, insurance or legal status based only on an AI answer, without a person reviewing it.
Using Coburg fairly
Also do not:
- try to get around the safety measures of Coburg or of the AI providers, or our usage limits;
- share your access, or resell or give access to Coburg to others;
- run automated requests, scraping or load against Coburg, or use Coburg’s link reading or internet search to scrape websites, without our written permission;
- use answers to build or train a competing AI model where the provider’s terms forbid it.
Connections and devices
Connections let the AI read your data in other services and, where explicitly allowed, control your Spotify playback, Sonos speakers or LG appliances. When you use them:
- connect only accounts that are yours or that you have clear permission to use this way; if an account belongs to your employer, a client, a school or another organisation, follow their rules;
- do not use Connections to collect or monitor other people’s messages, files or activity beyond what you are allowed to see;
- do not use device control for anything whose failure could hurt someone or damage something, and check the result of every command yourself.
Answers need your judgement
AI answers can be wrong, incomplete or out of date — including web search results and their sources, which come from public websites that Coburg does not check. They are not medical, legal, financial or other professional advice. Check anything important before you rely on it, and before you publish content created with Coburg, make sure it is accurate and that you have the right to publish it.
Since 2 August 2026, the EU Artificial Intelligence Act requires that people are told when they are interacting with AI and when certain content was generated by AI. Coburg tells you that you are talking to an AI model and shows which one. If you publish images, audio or texts created with AI in a way that could make people think they are real or written by a person — in particular realistic images, video or audio of real people, places or events, or AI-written text on matters of public interest — say that they were made or altered with AI, where the law or the situation requires it. Do not remove marks, labels or metadata that identify content as AI-generated.
What happens if this policy is broken
Your chats and files are stored in the storage you choose, not on our servers, and we do not read them as a matter of routine. If we learn that an account breaks this policy — for example from a report or from an AI provider — we may stop requests, suspend the account, disconnect services or close the account. Where the law requires it, we may report illegal content to the authorities.
Reporting
If you see Coburg being misused, or receive an answer you think is harmful, write to support@coburg.ai. Security issues go to security@coburg.ai.
Changes
We may update this policy as Coburg and the AI models it offers change. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
