Terms of Service

Effective October 16, 2026 · updated: deleting your account in the app, billing on coburg.ai

These Terms apply to your use of coburg.ai (“Coburg”) on the web, in the Coburg app for iPhone and in the app for Mac. By signing in, you agree to them. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data, and our Usage Policy, which says what Coburg must not be used for.

Coburg is currently in an invitation-only early-access phase. These Terms cover that phase. We will publish updated Terms before Coburg opens to the public or before paid plans can be bought in Coburg.

Early access

  • Access is by invitation only. We may add or remove invitations at any time.
  • Coburg is still being built. Features, models and providers may change, be interrupted or be removed without notice, and there is no guarantee of availability.
  • During early access, invited users receive a plan with credit free of charge. Payments cannot yet be made in Coburg. Before we start charging, we will tell you in advance, and nothing will be charged without your explicit agreement.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use Coburg.
  • You sign in with an account from a supported provider (currently Google or Microsoft). You are responsible for keeping that account secure, and for what happens when you are signed in to Coburg.
  • Coburg allows one signed-in browser or device at a time. Signing in on another browser or device signs you out of the previous one.
  • If you believe someone else has accessed your account, tell us at security@coburg.ai.

Chat and AI answers

  • Coburg does not build AI models. Answers, images, transcripts and voices are generated by AI models from third-party providers — today OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Perplexity, Consensus, Meta, Mistral AI, Cohere, Alibaba Cloud, BytePlus, Z.ai, Moonshot AI, StepFun and DeepSeek. You choose the model; the name of the model that answered is shown under each answer. Some of these providers are based outside the European Union, including in Singapore, Hong Kong and China; our Privacy Policy explains what that means for your data before you choose them.
  • AI answers can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Check important information, and do not rely on answers alone for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions.
  • You keep the rights to what you write and upload. You allow us and the AI provider of the model you choose to process your messages, attachments, personalization text and the content of the services you connect, to produce the answers you ask for. Each provider’s usage policy also applies to requests sent to it (see our Usage Policy); a provider may refuse or stop a request on its own, and Coburg cannot override that.
  • Where a provider’s terms grant you rights to the content its model generates for you, those rights are yours as between you and us; we claim no rights to your inputs or to the answers and images generated for you. Whether you may publish, sell or otherwise use generated content, and whether it is protected by copyright, depends on the law that applies to you and on the provider’s terms.
  • Each answer, search, image or voice session uses credit from your plan according to its real cost at the provider, as shown on the plans page. If you stop an answer, Coburg keeps receiving it from the AI provider for a short time (currently about 20 seconds, never more than 2 minutes) so that it learns the real cost; you pay for what the provider generated until then (not shown to you), and if the provider does not report it, we charge a careful estimate. If you leave the page while an answer is being written, the answer is finished, saved and charged in full; only Stop stops it. When your credit is used up, Chat pauses until your plan renews or credit is added. Chat titles, scanned-document transcription and other small background calls are paid by Coburg, not from your credit.
  • Coburg saves your chats and files in the storage you choose — Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, GitHub or GitLab — in the Coburg AI folder (on GitHub and GitLab, in a private repository or project called Coburg-AI that you create yourself). Chat works only while your storage is connected and has free space. When you switch storage, Coburg copies your chats and files there only if you agree. Your storage account is subject to your own agreement with its provider. Chats you delete in your storage yourself are not restored by Coburg. If you rename the Coburg AI folders or a chat file, Coburg puts the names back, and it creates a deleted folder again, empty. If a chat file is changed outside Coburg (or Coburg cannot confirm it is unchanged, for example a chat saved by an older version of Coburg), Coburg still shows it but does not write to it again; a file that no longer has Coburg's format is not opened.

Internet search and links

  • Some models search the web through their own provider. For the others, Coburg sends a short standalone search query to Perplexity and gives the findings, with their sources, to the model you chose. Search results are taken from public websites and can be wrong, biased or out of date; the sources shown under an answer let you check them.
  • If you paste a link, Coburg’s server reads the public page and gives its text to the model. Coburg does not sign in to websites, does not get around paywalls, and only reads what the site allows automated readers to read. You are responsible for having the right to use the content you link.

Attachments and images

  • You may attach photos, PDFs, text files, Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents and ZIP archives to a message, within the size limits shown in Coburg. Attach only files you have the right to share with us and with the AI provider. Attachments are saved in your storage; files you remove before sending are discarded.
  • Images made by a drawing model are saved in your storage. Some providers mark generated images as AI-made; do not remove such marks. Our Usage Policy explains when you must tell others that content was made with AI.

Voice

  • Dictation, reading aloud and voice calls stream your microphone audio, or the text to be read, to a speech provider and back. Nothing is recorded on our servers. After a voice call its transcript is saved into the chat in your storage.
  • Voices in Coburg are synthetic. Do not use them to imitate a real person without that person’s consent.

Connections

  • In Connections you may let the AI read data in other services of yours (for example Slack, Notion, Gmail, Outlook, Jira, Salesforce) and, for the services that explicitly allow it, control a device: Spotify playback, Sonos speakers and LG ThinQ appliances. You connect each service yourself, with that service’s own permission screen, and you can disconnect it at any time.
  • Access is read-only except for the controls named above. The AI can neither write to, send from, change nor delete anything in your connected services.
  • Connect only accounts you are allowed to use this way. If you connect an account that belongs to your employer, a client or another organisation, you are responsible for having their permission and for following their rules. Data the AI reads from a connected service goes to the AI provider of the model you chose, like your messages.
  • When the AI controls a device on your instruction (plays music, changes volume, starts or stops an appliance), it acts on what you asked and on what the service reports; check the result yourself. Do not rely on Coburg to control anything whose failure could cause harm or damage.
  • Each connected service is subject to your own agreement with its provider. We may change or remove a connection when a provider changes what it allows.

Plans and credit

  • Plans are offered in euro (prices include Spanish VAT where it applies) or in US dollars, as shown on the plans page. Each plan adds credit for a period; the plans page shows how much credit a plan gives and how answers are priced.
  • During early access no payment is taken. Terms for buying plans, renewal, cancellation and refunds will be added before payments open in Coburg, and you will be asked to agree to them.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Coburg in breach of any law, or to harm, harass or deceive other people;
  • try to access accounts, data or systems that are not yours — including through Connections — or to get around our security measures or usage limits;
  • interfere with or overload the service, or scan or test it for vulnerabilities without our written permission (please report security issues to security@coburg.ai instead);
  • share your invitation or your access with others, or resell access to Coburg;
  • use Coburg to create content that is illegal, or that breaks our Usage Policy or the usage policy of the AI provider that answers it.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these rules, or if we need to in order to protect Coburg, its users or others.

Our service and content

Coburg, including its software, design and the Coburg name and logo, belongs to Hardcarbon Iberia S.L. These Terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use Coburg during early access, including through the apps for iPhone and Mac. They do not give you any other rights to it. The names and logos of AI providers, storage providers and connected services belong to their owners; Coburg is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve Coburg without any obligation to you.

Ending your use

You can stop using Coburg at any time. You can delete your account yourself in Settings → Delete account (or write to support@coburg.ai). The account is deleted right away: a paid plan is canceled at once, with no refund for the rest of the period, and any remaining credit is lost. Your chats and files stay in your own storage, and the encrypted keys to your storage and connected services are deleted with the account. We may end early access, or your participation in it, at any time; where we can, we will let you know in advance.

Liability

Coburg is provided during early access as it is, without any promise that it will be free of errors or always available. AI models, search results and connected services are provided by third parties; we do not control them and are not responsible for their content, their availability or the actions you take on the basis of an answer. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability where the law does not allow it to be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects the rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms, for example when we add new features, providers or connections. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you continue to use Coburg after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply. If you do not agree, you can stop using Coburg and delete your account.

Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. If you are a consumer, you may also rely on the mandatory laws of, and bring proceedings in, the country where you live. Before going to court, please contact us at support@coburg.ai so we can try to resolve the matter together.
